An update on Social Media Influence

July 16, 2009

We’ve taken a bit of time out from Social Media Influence over the last couple of months due to no other reason than we were exhausted and crazy busy with lots of other client work. In the meantime our Social Media Influence Linked In group has been ticking along just fine so maybe we’re not needed at all!

Just in case we do still have something to offer though we’ve decided it’s time to get the SMI show back on the road again so stay tuned for regular case studies, reports and updates to the Social Media Influence site along with news about our next conference (the 5th annual social media event we’ve organised). That must make us social media veterans or some such….

The People’s Reviewer

July 16, 2009

We’re involved in a fun social media project at the moment through our roles at Radar DDB. It’s called the People’s Reviewer - a campaign for the Volkswagen Tiguan that, for want of a better explanation, involves finding the next Jeremy Clarkson.

We’ve been working with Tribal DDB to select nine contestants from all over the UK and they’re going to test drive the Tiguan for a week and make a video of their journey/adventure. Then the public get to vote on which contestant they think is the best People’s Reviewer.

Here’s a taster of the madness:

Check out the People’s Reviewer Twitter, Facebook and blog to see how our social media editorial approach is playing out.

A Gastrokid Book

July 13, 2009

As friends of Custom Communication already know, Matthew moonlights as a food writer on his blog Gastrokid.com.

Next month, the blog will become a book when Wiley & Co. publishes the Gastrokid Cookbook. Talk about social media coming of age.

You can preorder it now on Amazon…..if you’re in that cookbook sort of mood.
